Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
Yep, that one was in color. It turned out to be a print that had some kind of remastering done to it, something to do with the soundtrack. if you have a color copy of this that's PD, by all means, put it up.

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
I'd assumed that it was the new title sequence that was the problem, removing the extra "the" from the earlier "Attack of the the Eye Creatures." I can fix that easily enough, but if there's anything else that's non-PD, I won't post it.

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
Like a lot of movies of it's time, the movie saw release under both titles. The one in question I guess is a Retromedia print, which I didn't know at the time. Retromedia seems to do a lot of remastering and restoration on their products, enough I guess to constitute a new work. The status was brought to my attention by no less than three reviewers, so I checked it out at USCO, and sure enough, there it was. In the future I'll just have to, at the very least, check out the title sequence for special edition notices.

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
Well, if the soundtrack is different, I could download the B&W version here and redub the soundtrack from that. I seem to recall that Video-Cellar said video remastering wasn't enough to claim a copyright, but changing the titles or soundtrack was. Think I should give it a go, or just wait for somebody else to upload a color version?

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
Could you change the titles as well? If you can't, that copyright notice would still be there for all to see. I do have another copy of this from VHS, but the picture quality is lousy because it's a third generation dupe taken from a copy that someone taped off tv years ago. You have an interesting idea, though. I also believe there is another color copy here but it may have been sourced from the same material mine was. If there was some way to alter the titles you might get by with it, but that would be more in Video Cellar's realm of expertise. If you can find a way to put up a PD color copy, go for it. We need one here.

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
Okay, I give up on this new fancy-shmantzy up-fuckin-loader they've installed here. I've uploaded the bloody film four times, and still can't see it or play it.

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
I see what you mean. The page is there but there are no downloadable movie files. It stinks that it happens that way but I hope you do try again at some point when your frustration subsides. You have been able to upload serials successfully (that was you, wasn't it?)

Re: PLEASE REMOVE |
Excuse me. I had you confused with someone else on the serials. I still hope you'll try again later.
